Thank you, BlogHer edition

It’s Monday and that means its time to show some gratitude and start this week off on the right foot.

As you know from that button on the right, I went to BlogHer in San Diego last week.  It was daunting and delightful, educational and entertaining, frustrating and fantastic.

I have a plethora of words to describe the experience that was this wacked out, wicked and wonderful weekend. (Is it getting annoying yet? The alliteration? Yeah, I thought so.) I’ll save those defining descriptive details for another date.

But today, I want to shout out and show my gratitude to a few peeps that made my weekend unforgettable.

First, I have to give a big fat sloppy kiss to my sweet, gorgeous, talented, gracious hostess, Morgan of The Little Hen House. Thank you for not only styling me (Guuuuurrrrl, you made me look good!) but for opening your home to me, driving me around and sharing your family. Give my love to the girls and don’t forget “Its all the same chicken.”

Secondly, thank you to Lansinoh for providing the lactation suite at the conference. It was a place of peace and privacy. While I didn’t have the Dude with me, I needed to keep the milk flowing and your presence at BlogHer made that easier for me. Also, a shout out to Old Tweener for your multiple offers of assistance. I’d love to have your help, I think.

Thirdly, to the sponsors of #Sparklecorn, thank you. Thank you for wild and crazy party. Not so much for the 3 am burrito I needed to recover from the festivities.

Next, thank you to my dear friend Lori of In Pursuit of it All. You always had a word of wisdom, of encouragement. I can’t imagine what my weekend would have been without your welcoming smile, warm hug and sanity. Honorable mention: Miss Grace from Formerly Gracie. Thanks for popping up, just when I needed with just what I needed. You are amazing.

And finally, to Lerner of Stay At Home Babe. You were my salvation. You were genuine, kind, trusting and trustworthy. Thank you for being you. I will be counting the days until I can see you again. BlogHer12?

Oops. Adonis, my love. Thank you for not making leaving you and the kids behind harder than it was. (Seriously people, the house? NOT a disaster! What a relief!)

Honorable mention: my new Aussie bitch, Mrs Woog of Woogsworld. Thanks for doing me and yes, it was sooooo gooood. To all my big blogger idols, thank you for not bolting when I squeed. (And squee I did!). And um, also, for um, not um, telling me what an idiot I was when I, well, lets just keep that to ourselves.

Now its your turn: who do you need to thank?

It was an honor to have you join us. I think she and Flat MK might have gotten themselves into some trouble.

I’d like to thank the Academy.

Wait, not that kind of thanks?

Glad you had a great weekend. And very very honored that you carried me in your pocket, flat style!

Sounds like a great time was had . . . thank you for posting the pics you did (I’d check my instagram feed and think “wow, everyone is having a blast or is better than Melanie Griffith at faking it) and not-so-thanks for making me think of what super-embarrassing thing you might have done.

Um, there probably was some of what you think may have happened. See Jessica’s comment below!

See – I expected fondling (of friends and strangers) from you. No, I’d think “super embarrassing” from you would be in the “started an impromptu pole dancing class and ended up giving a lap dance to @lesbiandad”

Well, you are a little irresistible. And it was nice to have some sane time with you at CheeseburgHer.

I’m boiling with envy. Can envy boil? Or maybe just stew? Or is it a feeling and all those other descriptions make no sense?

See, freaking writing. If I was better at it maybe I would have been cool enough to go to BlogHer!

    Yes, yes, and yes.
Also, I kept running into your doppelganger in the bathroom…that is, if you had WHITE blond hair. It was quite strange and yes, I did dive into her cleavage to read her name and make sure it wasn’t you!

THANK YOU for being such a wonderful presence. I’d write more, but it’s going to make me cry and you know I can’t have any of that nonsense. I miss you already my friend. xoxo

First, you looked FABULOUS. I was really quite in awe. And I’m bummed I didn’t get to chat with you more (so many people I didn’t get to see enough of!). Glad your first big post-baby trip was a smash! Mwah!

You totally made me tear up. I never expected to connect so well with you. Expected you to be the other cool chick staying at Morgan’s, cause you know… she knows all the cool people. But those unexpected connections were totally what Blogher was all about for me. Now stop ruining my reputation with all those nice adjectives :) . You were a breath of honest fresh air. Thanks for wearing your heart on your sleeve. It’s so cool to be uncool. “The only true currency in this bankrupt world is what you share with someone else when you’re uncool.” -Lester Bangs

Seeing your smiling, happy, inconceivably thin self, was a breath of BlogHer fresh air. You never fail to make me smile, Amy.

Much love to you, my friend.

I am such a slacker, can’t even wrap my brain around posting about BlogHer yet. So glad I got to spend some time with your fine ass.
