Day 19 Ugh, do I really have to go to work?

After having spent the gorgeous weekend playing with both my husband and my daughter, dabbling in my garden and making the most amazing alfredo sauce, I really don’t have any interest in going to work today.

To add to the fun, I’m taking in my car for a much needed repair (one that I had asked to be done last time she was in the shop, ahem!).  This means renting a car so that I can get back in time to get the Mad from the sitter’s. If only my scooter was running!

What do I have facing me today?  Let’s see, since I had good news from the Fert Doc, my Jewish grandmother coworker is gonna drive me nuts with her excitement for me.  AND then she’ll get started on sharing everything she’s done since I saw her last week.  EVERY MOMENT!  And of course, filling me in on what so and so’s niece is doing, who is pregnant, who is the latest in the neighborhood to be struck done by arthritis, the travesties of the homeowner’s association and let’s not forget about whether or not her husband left the toilet seat up.

Oh yeah, this is my Monday, EVERY Monday.

And then of course, I will settle in and get down to business.  By 11 I’ll be anxious to get back outside, missing my backyard and giggling kid.  By 1130 I’ll be bored to tears and dying for the day to be over.

Around noon the boss will roll in.  He’ll make some excuse not to talk to the grandmother, only to come in to my office to brag to me about the events he’s been to this weekend and the worst part of all?  He’ll share with me how he slept until 9, got outside in this GORGEOUS weather and had a fantastic workout.  He’ll go on and on about how great he feels and how wonderful it is to work out before coming to work, especially after having such a long night’s sleep.

Anyone got a gun?  Maybe just a tazer?  How about just a fat sock and some duct tape?

It’s Monday, what’s your bitch?

Ah Monday! What a beautiful day! Wake up at sunrise, take a walk in the woods, breathe the fresh air, love life…. If you believe this BS I've got a bridge to sell you.

I hate Mondays too. Sunday nights are a bit depressing knowing that the easy going family time we've been enjoying is over. Don't you just wish you were independantley wealthy so you could be home and vacation all of the time? This is a recurring day dream for my husband and I. A life without Mondays.

Now that I'm working half-time, Tuesday is the new Monday. It's going to be beautiful and I'm going to be inside. And I think I have four meetings. Aaaarrrggghhh. But today I was home with the grandkids, and it was great, so I can't complain. Well, I could….
