My first love

…I’m putty in your hands
Im under your spell
You send me spinning

You pull me in close,You throw me away
I keep coming back like a boomerang.
You tell me to go,You beg me to stay.
I keep coming back like a boomerang
Round and Round and Round and back again.
Round and Round and Round and back again.

Thanks Plain White T’s! That was just what I needed to kick this off!

I always knew she was out there.  There was this mystery about her, the unknown, the rumor of her beauty, but her magnetism was legendary. (Come on, how did you NOT expect mine to be a sapphic affair.)

My first time I was to meet her, I was beside myself with anticipation. Would she be everything I had hoped? What if I fell in love with her and had to return home? I knew she couldn’t come with me. I was almost not wanting to meet her. What if she DIDN’T live up to my dreams?

But she did. She was beautiful, more beautiful than I could imagine. Full of energy, bursting with desire to do more, always creative. She welcomed me with open arms. She didnt shy away from my differences, expected me to accept her, just as she was.

Sure, she wasn’t always sunny. Some days she left me in a fog but she was always up for an adventure.

As we got to know each other, I discovered that I was getting to know myself. Amazing thing, this first love.

I knew the day would come when I would have to say goodbye. Time to face the music, face reality, and move on.  But when I left, I left my heart.

I left my heart in San Francisco.

Come on, I needed to have some fun.  And it is true, I love this city and feel her pull every day.  I was inspired by this week’s Red Writing Hood prompt: Write a short first-person story about your first love, or write a short fiction piece about a character’s first love.

I’m with you. I love San Fran but my fave US city is Las Vegas. I live the glitz and lights and over the topness. And the shows and food and people watching.

i’ve only been to san francisco once, but it was amazing. i was kinda surprised by the sheer volume of homeless people downtown, though.

no city on earth will ever replace new orleans as the center of my heart, though, no matter where i go, no matter how long i live in the metro DC area. NOLA owns me, and that’s all there is to it.

San Fransisco is one of the cities I really want to visit. I’ve been there once, for 12 hours, saw noting but the airport, the hotel and a couple of meeting rooms. Next time I’ll stay longer >:)

Aw, christ, I thought you were talking about ME! ” There was this mystery about her, the unknown, the rumor of her beauty, but her magnetism was legendary. ”

I AM a mother fuckin’ legend.

Oh, I’m so confused!!! Are you talking about Muff Diving or living in the Gay Capital of America? Wait…that’s almost the same thing. I spent some time in SF when I was in the Navy. Even had a girlfriend there – I guess we were an oddity of sorts. (Actually, I have been trying to track her down.) But the story was great. Good job, hon.

    Love this!

Have been to San Fran only once, for a few days of Grateful Dead tour in 1995. Memories are good, but fuzzy at best.

I, too, love San Francisco, but our time together was too short.

    Someday, I’ll see her again.
