Library lovin’ challenge.

This is a library-loving blog challenge created by Jennifer Hubbard  I found her thru my favorite YA author extraordinaire and good friend Cynthia Jaynes Omololu. For every commenter on this post between now and midnight on March 27th, I will donate $1 to the San Leandro Public Library.  Go and comment at  Cynthia’ blog too!.   My goal is $200!  (Shush, don’t tell the hubs!)

How easy could it be? You comment, I cough up the money, the library gets a gift! If you don’t know what to say in your comment, “I love libraries” will do.

Note that my pledge is “per commenter”—so if a single person leaves 50 comments, that still only counts once! (Anonymous comments count, although they are screened until I can view them–but please leave at least a nickname or pseudonym if you use the anonymous option.)  HOWEVER, since I’m getting into this game a little late, I’ll count ya twice if you tweet this (do let me know that you have!)

You can do even more by spreading the word … please link to this post, tweet about it, and send your friends here so they can comment and raise more money.

If you’re moved to make a flat-fee donation to your library, or to start your own challenge, you are quite welcome, and please leave that information in the comments.

Great cause, and I support you and our library. I especially love that I can now download books to my iPod for my transports to NY. Three books gets me there and back.

What an awesome challenge. We love taking the kids to the library and we all end up getting books. We got a membership to our local library from my husbands parents for Christmas and we love taking advantage of it.

I just thought I would share a story about when I thought I was donating to our library. I'm from Texas- so the library systems probably work differently in each state. But one time when I was turning in late books again, I mentioned to the librarian, at least my money was going to a good cause, she casually mentioned that this money did not actually help the library, but went to the government. Speeding tickets, she said, funded the library. I am glad that your contribution will actually be direct.
