Wham Bam, Thank you Ma’am. Aaaand cut.

Yes, we’re at the end of this exhausting month. Do I feel raw and exposed? Nah. Do I feel relieved, a weight lifted. Hmm, not so much, or at least not from these prompts. Fun? Not really. Glad its over? You bet your freaking hot to trot can’t get enough of it ass, YES.

Day 27 — What’s the best thing going for you right now?

Hm, I got this great gig as a mother. Pay sucks but the benefits are unbeatable. Adonis and I seem to be on the same page in this frustrating house hunt and work is a busy as ever, i.e. job security.

Day 28 — What if you were pregnant or got someone pregnant, what would you do?

Wow, thats a tough one: HAVE THE FRICKIN BABY! The question is just preposterous for a woman with fertility issues.

Day 29 — Something you hope to change about yourself. And why.

Funny, I feel like I’ve already answered this this month. Oh well. I’d change my lack of self confidence when it comes to writing fiction. Oh and then there are the failures as a mother, wife and employee, but that isn’t unique or interesting.

Day 30 — A letter to yourself, tell yourself EVERYTHING you love about yourself.

Dear Self,

Have I told you lately how much I love you? How much I love that you are unafraid to tell a dirty joke? That you will try anything once? That you live in the moment? Have I told you how much I love your physical strength? That you look pretty hot pregnant? That you have the cutest feet, even with that funny toe? And girl, you can sing. (Though I wish you’d take the opportunity to show it off other than in a pew at church.)

Oh Self, sweet self. You are a good friend and open to loving everyone. You see the best in people and most every situation. You can laugh at yourself, even after you’ve fallen on your face.

You can make a fine pot of chili, a pretty good Sangria on the fly and your baking aint’ bad either. Your creativity and tendency for the cheap makes for some interesting meals and allows all sorts of room for experimentation.

I love your work ethic and your dedication. You’re a good mom, no matter how many times you fail. And girl, I’m proud of you for not giving up. These prompts sucked big fat donkey balls and yet you got through them.

Promise me you’ll give the next commitment a little more thought.

Feel free to add more to my letter. Go ahead tell me what you love about me!  Oh alright, you can tell me about the best thing going for you right now. I’m all ears.

    I was expecting …

If you had a chocolate cake, which Symdaddy would you give the largest piece to?

    … but it wasn’t there!

If there is one quality that you have, but haven’t mentioned, it’s being able to put up with having your fridge raided on a regular basis by people who people who again and again prove that there can never be too much potty training for children whilst growing up.

P.S. Sorry ’bout that stain on your sofa, but I was bustin’!

I have that writerly self doubt thing. I struggle with it every time I open up my writer’s notebook, er . . . my computer.

And my feet? Are my best feature. Truly. My feet are small and the toes are perfectly aligned and I’m all, why the hell when God was giving everybody one good feature, why did I get feet? I want a redo. I want perfect hair or cheekbones. Feet? I got gypped.

Congratulations on finishing your days of truth.

Oh, how very sweet, and important to do.

We do become our closest friend as we get older.

    We know each other best.

I read once how we become our own twin. I love that.
