Its all in the attitude

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Herm Albright

I would love to tell you where I saw this quote but my head is swimming with all the posts I’ve crammed in the past few days. I simply copied it into a post draft so I wouldn’t forget it. Yes, I realize now I could have noted the site at the time too. Bite me.

See, all in the attitude.

And to start the week off right, once again, I’m presenting an attitude of gratitude. And yes, the rhyming is annoying, I get it.

First of all, a huge thank you to all the bloggers who did the BlogHer recaps. I loved seeing all the pics (specifically the ones with flattering pics of myself, hee!) and reading the words of these inspiring women.  And if you want to see what kind of trouble I got into, head over to Rachel’s blog Mommy Needs a Vacation. Scroll way down…you’ll find me.

Secondly, I want to thank my employer. I returned home from surreal experience that was BlogHer to the bitchy little princess that is my daughter. I couldn’t get to work on Monday fast enough. So yes, I am eternally grateful for having a job and one that I love. Seriously people, the kid is 3. Don’t shake your finger at me. She’d have you crying by lunch, I promise.

Thirdly, a shout out to the talented, amazing, warm, generous, surprising Miss Lori from In Pursuit of it All. While at BlogHer she mentioned this event she was doing in a few weeks. When I heard it was a triathlon, I immediately knew I had to do it. And then I remembered, Oh, I don’t own a bike. But this 2 minute conversation was the impetus I needed to get my butt in gear and get back into a serious workout routine.

Of course, this post wouldn’t be complete without thanking my dear Adonis. When I presented the idea of doing 2/3 of a triathlon to support my friend he didn’t question me for a moment. The first words out of his mouth were “Do you want a bike for your birthday?” Five minutes later I was registering for the Tri Girl Tri in Napa on October 1. So thank you sweetheart. I am so going to make this all worth your while.

Finally, thank you for the few of you that linked up yesterday for the 6 word Sunday meme. Going forward it will be a weekly link up. Come on, its easy. I’m kicking myself for not doing this sooner. I may even make it themed or prompted. Yeah!

Oooh, and um, thanks Adonis for well, um, for the smile I’ll be wearing the next few days.

So, spill it. What are you grateful for, or for fun, tell us about someone in your life that needs an attitude adjustment? Venting is good, right?

Gratitude… I’ve been bursting with it since I got home from Blogher. BUt it’s hard to pin it down. I just feel… better. Should I get really cheesy then? Shall I say how grateful I am to have spent so much time with you and made the connection we did? Because I so am. I haven’t mailed your shirt yet, because I haven’t washed it yet. I will though. Promise I won’t steal it :) .

Congrats on signing up for the tri, I am sure you will kick ass. Is this your first? I can’t wait to hear all about it.

Also, I will treasure our time spent in the photo booth together forever.

You’re my hero, a tri? I know you’ll knock it out of the ballpark.

I’m grateful for so much. It’s my birthday week so I’m celebrating every day – life’s too short and all.

Yay for that smile, if that smile is because of what I think it is . . . and I do believe that I’m right here ;-)

Keep us updated on the triathlon progress . . . I’m itching to do another, like right now.

Oh I am glad you said that about your three year old girl – mine is giving me nightmares. She can be so charming…and then throw tantrums that can be heard three states over. !!!!

You are amazing for doing a Tri!! A-MAZ-ING!!

I could use an attitude adjustment as a hostess. But I’m seriously sick and tired of taking cold showers in the morning.

look at you being EVEN MORE amazing than you already are!!!

I am grateful for BOGO at payless, for time off with my best girlfriend yesterday and for a job (like you) since I get to come here instead of having twin 3 yr olds wag their fingers at me and tell me that they wanted pancakes not French Toast waffles for breakfast….sigh. ;)
