It’s a party!

Nothing better to perk a girl up than some good news and shoes.  Am I right?  (I’ll get to the good new when I get a more firm confirmation, ahem.)

Had to get up off my ass sometime!

Momma Kiss, my bestest new bloggy friend recommended I join the party over at Beth’s.  She’s having this great party where we all get to talk about shoes and who doesn’t love shoes.  Oh, and for the record, you east coasters and your Gabriel Brother’s can all kiss my ass.  I’m just saying.

Let me preface this all by saying, I have NEVER been very fashion savvy, just this year finally feeling like I’ve got a sense of what I can wear and what I shouldn’t.  That said, my shoes will surely show you that I’ve had a few glimpses of genius but perhaps a few seasons behind the times.  Please, a shoe intervention would be most welcome!

So last night I snapped some pictures of my faves in my closet.  I figured you didn’t need to see all the well worn old navy flip flops in the basket on the floor.  And due to the poor condition of my pedicure, I won’t be modelling any open toed sassiness.  It would not be pretty.

First up is a favorite pair of boots that barely get any face time outside the bedroom.  They are hot, for sure, but it’s really hard to wear red faux patent leather boots in public.

Next up is another pair that should get more love. I just think they are adorable, so cute I have them in brown too!

My real world friend is waiting for me to outgrow this next pair (via pregnancy).  I’m happy to report, the first one didn’t do it.  We’ll have to see about the next.  These are Carlos, by THE Carlos Santana.  I love everything that man does.  I love the kitten heel and the bow.  Bows, I have something for shoes with bows.

No, don’t say it, I know, these feet need a SERIOUS tan!

The past couple of years I’ve picked up some form of ballet slipper because they are so easy and comfortable.  This year’s pair is just too cute.  Now if I could find a coordinating purse!

But what I wear most of the time and in what I am most comfortable are a pair of these.  I probably have 4 of these guys hanging around.  Give me a month and I’ll be burning up the track with these:

Wow, that angle makes my legs look enormous.  Ouch!

I cheated a little and took a peek at Beth’s post before writing mine.  And was inspired.  So the Mad and I went to Nordstrom rack to see what we could scrounge up.  I’m desperate for some REAL leather sandals, they can be strappy, sturdy, sexy, whatever, just give me SOMETHING.

NOPE.  Not a darn thing I could bear to bring home.  I just didn’t need a pair of red gladiator heels or gold bead flipflops.  I hung my head and shame and came home.  Maybe I could find some good shoe porn on line.

But I tire too quickly and Mad’s bath is getting cold.  I’ll leave you with this:

Here is my entry for the WTF category, brought to you today by those fine buyers at Needless Markup.

Tell me why!?!?!?!?!
And copied straight from Beth:

I don't care much for talking about women's shoes, but I will say that those boots are a great bedroom pair. Just saying…

Those red bedroom boots need to get out of the bedroom, they are wicked cool. Totally love the pink ballet slippers.

too bad my carlos purse doesn't match the shoes. i'll just have to wait for my aunt to tire of her lime green purse and give it to me. that'll probably be just about the time you give me those shoes.

You have a lovely collection of shoes. But that first remark 'these boots only get bedroom action' had my imagination run off wild. Don't worry I guess I have a dirty mind ;-)

Nice shoes but After years of study on the consumer’s behavior for footwear it’s been confirmed that in general, Dan Post boots are the prime option for many people.  The most important quality that people look for in boots is the style and the longevity of a boot.

Why do I want to hit "John" with your boots?

Anyway, I actually love this idea. I rarely have an opportunity to show off some of my favorite shoes (not much call for flash in these parts). I think I might just participate.

I LOVE your boots. Red shoes, handbags…hell, all accessories, are my weakness. I also like the ballet slippers. ;)

    The boots. The booooooooots.

And I should have taken a pic of my sneak's too – been wearing those a lot lately!

That was fun, wasn't it? Did you do her linky thing? Not to mention, her pictures are unbelievable. And she's a bargain hunter! She's got it all!!!

    :p

I'm so glad you were talked into joining the shoe party! Your shoes are fab, especially those boots. I have some bedroom shoes too, but I didn't model those for you all :) . And I am in love with all the adorables with bows. Your WTF shoes are like a horrible version of my Pocahontas heels! Too funny…and a bit scary all wrapped into one.

Love your round toed shoes! I would do that, too, when I found a pair of shoes so comfy and nice, buy a second pair in another color {if they have it}.

So thanks gals. Yes, this was fun and addictive! I mentioned that I had gone out shopping and scored a big goose egg. Well, I wasn't giving up. Went out last night and picked up 4 cute pairs of sandals and another pair of bedroom shoes. I may have gone overboard.

Also, I did some research and the green Carlos' (style name Performer) is no longer available. I'm so sorry.
The cute little ballet slippers are from Marshalls so good luck there!

Thanks for coming to my party everyone and perking me up!
