Now I’m cookin’, with a little help from my friends

Have you ever tried a recipe you found online and afterwards said to yourself, ”what the hell was that?”  Yeah, I’ve done that enough times to have made the following rule: only eat the recipes from people I’ve seen eat.  (See, I can make that rule because I’ve met A LOT of you bloggers, thank you BlogHer.) Funny aside: I mentioned to a blogger that I found the recipe of hers that I tried was unhealthy and she said “Oh, I don’t eat it, I just make it for my kids.” I love your honesty, you unnamed blogger. Hope you see this!

So when I saw that Nichole had posted this beautiful looking recipe yesterday, I knew I had to try it and I knew it would be good. Love you girl! And yes, yes it was.

I'm off to a good start, right? Except for the picture quality. Shut up.

This looks grosser than it was.

Wow, that was easy.

You were a good plant, but now you must say goodbye.

I may have been singing "choppin' broccoli"

Oh yeah, baby. YUM. MMY

As a footnote, let me add, my daughter, a NOTORIOUS picky eater, CLEANED HER PLATE!!!!! This is going straight to my short list of favorite and easy meals. Now if someone could tell me how to make my rosemary grow faster.

Second footnote: I’m big time disappointed that I wasn’t able to try Rachel’s pick for an accompanying wine. Next time *crossing fingers.

Dying. I made it, too! And we loved it. My kids ate strawberries and one noodle, but that’s to be expected here.

My mouth is watering…and I know the feeling of a famous picky eater actually EATING. It’s marvelous.

I have a HORRIBLE time growing herbs, and I hate paying the premium grocery store prices for fresh herbs. I should learn to get better at them. Once the weather permits, I’m getting my herb garden up & running.

    Chopping Broccoli.

    Chopping Brock-a-lie.

      So glad someone recognized that!
Also the herbs? I’m the laziest gardener. My basil gets eaten by snails before I can cut a single leaf. Kills me! Hoping to change things in the new house.

I can’t tell you how happy I am that you not only made this, but that your sweet girl liked it! Yay!
Thank you for the linky love, my sweet friend.
And don’t get me started about growing rosemary.

I am impressed. It tends to take me at least a month until I get to trying a recipe I see online! I must try..

I am dying laughing. Rosemary is the EASIEST herb to grow ever.
This dish is yummy right!?!? Next time, get some damn Pinot girl!

Easy to grow, if you’re trying! I left that poor thing out to die a YEAR ago! Always surprised to find new growth. But now that I have a recipe I want to make on a regular basis, I’ll have to pay more attention.

And yes, I’ll get some damn Pinot! I am a Pinot kinda girl.

A clean plate from a picky eater? It must be a winner. Look forward to seeing if it might work with mine.

I plan to try it, too. But curious minds want to know: what kind of iPad stand is that?

Google Rocketfish Stand for Apple iPad RF-ISTAND I don’t think I paid $40 for it and there are certainly cheaper ones. I like that this one is so high.

And I know what you mean, I wish there was some sort of taste compatability test one could take…
