When I was a kid, specifically the years I was 4, 5, 6 and 7, half of my summer mornings were spent in swimming lessons. Yeah, the first half, the chilly ones. 30 minutes 3 days a week my mom or my sitter would take me to the public pool where the other poor souls, the blue-lipped, wetting-their-suits- kids would gather for our lessons from teens who clearly were desperate for the money but could care less for our drowning little butts.
I sort of miss those days.
Earlier this year we signed Maddy up for swimming lessons and while the first class was a bit rough, she yes, she took to it like a fish to water. Well, except for the blowing bubbles, putting her face in the water, lying on her back or jumping into the pool, other than those things, she loved it.
I’m so proud.
I’m also really excited to see that Juice in the City is offering a special on swimming lessons at Little Dipper Swim School. The lessons take place in a pool that’s heated in the fall and winter and taught by folks who know their stuff, psychologists, teachers, swim coaches.
The deal is for $60 for one month of lessons. And here is more fine print:
